What is Ceramides
Ceramides (Cers) are present in all eukaryotic cells and play an important role in regulating life activities such as cell differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis and aging. As a major component of intercellular lipids in the stratum corneum of the skin, ceramides not only act as second messenger molecules in the sphingomyelin pathway, but also play an important role in the process of epidermal stratum corneum formation, which is responsible for the maintenance of the skin barrier, moisturisation, anti-aging, skin whitening, and disease treatment.
