Introduction:
Borax, generally written as Na2B4O710H2O, is a very important boron-containing mineral and boron compound. Usually a white powder containing colorless crystals, odorless and salty. The specific gravity is 1.73. All crystal water is lost at 350-400°C. Soluble in water and glycerol, slightly soluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline.
Application:
1, Mainly used in glass and enamel industries. In glass, it can enhance the transmittance of ultraviolet ray and improve the transparency and heat resistance of the glass.
In enamel products, can make the enamel not easy to fall off and make its luster.
In special optical glass, glass fiber, welding agent for nonferrous metals, jewelry of adhesive, printing and dyeing, washing (silk and wool, etc.), gold refined soap, cosmetics, pesticide, fertilizer, borax, preservatives, antifreeze, etc, also have a wide range of applications.
2, Borax is the basic raw material for the preparation of boron-containing compounds. Almost all of the boron-containing compounds can be obtained by borax.
