Description:
Benzoin, also known as benzoin, diphenylolone, 2-hydroxy-2-phenylacetophenone, or 2-hydroxy-1, 2-diphenylacetophenone, is a colorless or white crystal with a camphor-like smell that can be used as a raw material for drugs and wetting agents, and as a catalyst for the production of polyester. Benzoin is formed by condensation of two molecules of benzaldehyde with benzoin in an ethanol solution.
Application:
It can be applied to chemical industry, pharmaceutical products etc.With rapid development of powder coatings, it is extended to this new field to overcome the defects of pinhole etc., which is caused by powder coating raw material. Benzoin is an ideal additive in powder coatings production.
