Sodium Cholate is a cholagogue, a mixture of sodium taurocholate and sodium glycocholate raised from bovine or porcine bile. Brown or light yellow powder; fresh bile odor; sweet taste at first and then bitter; moisture-attracting. Freely soluble in water, ethanol, insoluble in ether. It can be deliquesced in air. This product has the effect of bile and promoting bile secretion, so that the secretion of bile and its composition are increased.
